We are pleased to offer access to private stocked water on the property of the Raritan Inn at Middle Valley. Lodging is available also available. Please go to www.raritaninn.com for details. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the staff looks after your every need while maintaining a great degree of privacy. Corporate and group bookings are encouraged. This water is open to the public for the purpose of providing expertly guided fly fishing trips that are safe, comfortable, informative and always exciting. In exchange, no more than two trips will be booked per day on 3/4 of a mile of the South Branch of the Raritan River in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Private or corporate groups book the entire facility and have it at their disposal on the day of their visit.

All fishing is with barbless hooks on a fly rod and all the fish must be released. There are currently wild Brown Trout up to 23 inches and native Brook Trout up to fourteen inches inhabiting this section of river. In addition, Kamloops Strain Rainbow Trout from 12-24+ inches are available. Catch rates of hold-over and wild fish fish are excellent. Insect hatches are excellent especially Hendricksons, Sulphurs, as well as Caddis, Slate Drakes and Blue Winged Olives. Most Rainbows are between 15-18 inches with many fish over 20 inches. The water is not fished on a daily basis and is frequently rested. Additional cost of trips is reflected in the maintenance of an outstanding facility and fishery. All bookings are to be handled through Shannon's Fly and Tackle. We are currently taking bookings. Access is per day beginning at 8am and continuing until 1/2 hour after sunset.
