Once a Month Shannon's will post a fly of the month. Les hand selected one of his favorite fly patterns to share with all of you. This fly may be one of Les's creations, a new pattern from one of our local Fly Tiers, or one of the old classics.

JANUARY 2007 BLACK PHEASANT TAIL FLASHBACK

 Pheasant tail dyed black
Abdomen:

 Pheasant tail dyed black
Thorax:

 2 Strands dyed black peacock Herl

Wing case:

  Pearlescent Flashabou ( Tied Stonefly Style)

   Note: A Pheasant Tail Nymph which imitates the Little Black Stonefly which is prevalent on local Trout streams, with a little flash added. Can also be tied  Flashback style,

without the bead. Note the slightly curved hook giving the nymph a more realistic profile.-JH
