Once a Month Shannon's will post a fly of the
month. Les hand selected one of his favorite fly patterns to share with all of
you. This fly may be one of Les's creations, a new pattern from one of our local
Fly Tiers, or one of the old classics.
January 2008 Fly Of the Month John Collins ties one of his
signature patterns, J.C.'s Electric Caddis Larva

Two hook style's are used because
there is a Long version 285 hook and a Short version 135 Scud
hook. Both are tied in the same manner with the same steps
employed. This realistic Caddis Larva is easy to tie. It can be
deadly during times of "Larval Drift" or during the fall into
winter months. The great thing about this pattern is that the
colors can be changed to imitate all different types of "Free
Living" and "Net Spinning" Caddis Larva.-J.C.
