Once a Month Shannon's will post a fly of the month. Les hand selected one of his favorite fly patterns to share with all of you. This fly may be one of Les's creations, a new pattern from one of our local Fly Tiers, or one of the old classics.

 

February 2009 Fly Of the Month  

Eric Hildebrant ties a Scud

  • Hook: Mustad C49S Sizes 14-18

  • Thread: 6/0 to match body color

  • Body: Olive or gray Haretron Dubbing (optional lead wire substitute) 

  • Shellback:  Scud Back or Medallion Sheeting

  •  Legs: Pick out dubbing after tying in ribbing

  •  Rib: Clearn 2 lb test monofilament
