The Rain Ends, It's Sulphur Time

To our readers I apologize for not writing a Fishing Report for the last two weeks. Frankly, it's been raining almost continuously between posts. Finally, however it looks like better weather is here. Fishing during the rainy period was almost entirely subsurface nymphs such as the Prince, Hare's Ear and Pheasant Tail along with Caddis Larva were successful along with streamers such as the Black Ghost and Woolly Buggers. I hope to have more Squirmy Worms in the shop this week, enough said. Until Dave McKenna dropped off a new box load, we couldn't keep Tungsten Bead Nymphs in the shop; those Euro-Nymphers are really catching fish in these high water spring conditions. Califon Spring Trout Fest

We're getting ready for Califon Spring Trout Fest tomorrow and the gang came out to help us stock the fish for the Kid's Derby portion of the contest which runs from 8am until 12 noon. Vern Mancini brought over 400 beautiful Rainbow, Brown, Golden and Tiger Trout. Registration is required and donations are accepted. Looks like we'll have some nice weather. Fifteen of the trout were tagged and they will have prizes attached from local restaurants and our vendors. We will give out our derby awards at the Califon Island Park at 12:30pm.
