Bubba is Back....

Happy Holidays to all of you and in the spirit of the season I am happy to report that the Bubba Contest is on once again. Thursday afternoon, they arrived fresh from the Musky Hatchery in Asbury. Jeff Mancini brought the fish. We spread the fish out from Vernoy Road down to Hoffman's Crossing, all told some 500 trout were stocked between 11-17 inches in length plus the two large Bubbas a Brown and a Rainbow between 25-27". The state stocked large Rainbows back in October so we felt that numbers were the name of the game this year. The two Bubbas have jaw tags. Happy Holidays! We have plenty of gifts for that special angler and gift certificates are available. Matt Grobert will be our featured tyer this Sunday at 9:30 am and John Collins will return next Sunday December 22nd. Bubba Watch has begun........ A Snowy Start To December

Cold weather came a little early to our area over the weekend and now there is a layer of snow to transform our area into a winter wonderland. The holiday season is always a great time to spend with family and friends but it is also a prime time to be outside for those hearty souls who need a little break from eating, gift giving and celebrating. I last fished on Saturday evening, the last day of November and was able to draw interest from a couple of Rainbows using an Olive Woolly Bugger. I went one for two and the brisk temperatures in the mid-upper thirties were no obstacle, it is amazing how quickly you warm up with a fish on the line.
